Columbus, Ohio – Spectrum News 1 today announced the launch of “Dear Ohio,” a new weekly podcast hosted by veteran anchor Curtis Jackson, featuring meaningful, nonpartisan conversations with policymakers and influencers on the political topics affecting Ohioans. Set to debut April 14, the first episode will delve into the rise of domestic hate and extremist groups with Michael Edison Hayden, senior investigator and spokesperson for the Southern Poverty Law Center, one of the nation’s foremost civil rights organizations.

“Between a complicated political system and seemingly unbreakable local and national political gridlock, it’s no wonder many people may feel they have little influence,” Jackson said. “But the truth is, knowledge is key and the ‘Dear Ohio’ podcast will empower and inform listeners on the political issues that affect their everyday lives, giving them a more confident voice.”

“Dear Ohio” is a podcast for listeners who want a better understanding of the issues facing Ohioans, and what can be done to inspire actionable change in their community and state.  Each week, Jackson will examine the political landscape through one-on-one conversations with the prominent newsmakers, and key decision-makers who move the needle and influence Ohio.

Spectrum Networks’ podcast strategy, coupled with the Spectrum News App, is part of its investment to strengthen the connection with local communities by giving customers more access to read, watch, or listen to local news anytime, anywhere. “Dear Ohio” is the most recent addition to Spectrum Networks’ line-up of local podcasts hosted by reporters and anchors.
